Information on planned changes in provision of the Administrative and Technical Service of the .pl domain names by NASK

On 15 June 2015 NASK is ceasing to accept offers for registration of .pl domain names regarding the provision of Administrative and Technical Service (hereinafter referred to as Service) directly for a subscriber and the extension of the scope of existing agreements on the provision of the Service directly for the subscriber. From the date mentioned above the registration of a .pl domain name by individuals and entities will only be allowed by means of one of NASK's Partners, specified in the up-to-date list of the Registrars, published at the NASK's website.

The above decision constitutes a next step of the .pl registry in the process of fundamental changes in the method of providing the Service of the .pl domain name resulting in the discontinuation of provision of the Service of the subscribers of .pl domain names by NASK. Ultimately, NASK is going to provide the Service exclusively for the Partner specified by the domain name subscriber. The actions, currently being taken, result from effecting the successive phase of deregulation of the domain name market in Poland, commenced in December 2002, aiming, among others, to increase the availability of services. Completion of those actions will allow NASK to focus on the development, stability and security of the .pl national domain registry.

Within the frames of the successive phase, NASK is going to publish the new .pl Domain Names Regulations the enforcement of which will commence the process of ceasing to provide the Service directly for the subscribers, which may last for several months. It means that the subscribers of .pl domain names will be obliged to choose a Partner for whom NASK will be executing the Service and which will be representing them before NASK. For the security of all the subscribers NASK is going to provide the Service of each such a .pl domain name at least until the end of its billing period, commenced before the enforcement of the new .pl Domain Names Regulations. Nevertheless, each .pl domain name subscriber, for whom NASK is executing the Service, will be notified about the changes in writing at least 3 months before the end of the provision. Therefore, the process of informing the subscribers will be extended in time and the first subscribers will receive a written notification from NASK at least 3 months before the enforcement of the new .pl Domain Names Regulations and the last not later than 9 months after the enforcement of the new .pl Domain Names Regulations. For the reasons mentioned above we ask the .pl domain name subscribers for patience and understanding during the period of changes.

At the same time, please be informed that the Service, provided to the subscribers on the basis of the agreements concluded before 15 June 2015, is going to be provided on unchanged conditions, i.e. in accordance with the binding .pl Domain Names Regulations as of 18 December 2006, at least to the enforcement date of the new .pl Domain Names Regulations.

We also inform that the changes, presented above, do not apply to the subscribers of .gov.pl domain names, serviced pursuant to the binding .gov.pl Domain Names Regulations as of 26 March 2013.
