NASK publishes the annual Report on the .pl domain name market for 2018

The .pl domain name Registry presents the annual report ".pl Domain Names Market". It contains detailed information on the activities of the .pl domain name Registry, including data that have not previously been published.

At the end of 2018, the total number of .pl domain names reached nearly 2.6 million, an increase of over 20 thousand as compared to the previous year. This increase was achieved due to a larger number of registrations as well as increased domain names renewal rate, which amounted to over 65.5%, being the highest in 10 years. Last year almost 2.5 thousand domain names were being registered daily average.

The .pl domain currently holds the sixth place in Europe, and its share in the domestic domain market was the largest and amounted to over 72%.

The number of .pl domain names secured with DNSSEC amounted to 502 083, which is more than a twelve-fold increase as compared to the number recorded at the end of 2017, when there were 40 679 DNSSEC-secured domain names in the Polish registry. Among European domain names, secured with that method, the .pl domain currently holds the fourth place.

The number of .pl domain name registrants also increased - at the end of 2018, there were over 1.07 million of them, 2/3 of which being corporate registrants, while 1/3 individual ones. The vast majority, over 93.5% of registrants, had their headquarters in Poland.
